A genuine low mileage example of this classic , with only 36k miles (58k in km). Engine starts and runs smoothly, all gears select tightly, overall in good working condition but in need of some restoration. Traditional colour combination of British Racing Green with tan leather interior. Comes with service history, receipts and Mazda owner’s manual.
Originally imported in 2002 by its first owner, the vehicle covered only a few hundred miles each year during its 18-year ownership. The second owner based in Birmingham acquired the vehicle in January 2020 to restore and add to his collection. A significant amount of work was done to the car including:
- Fuel system flush, new fuel filter
- New suspension fitted all round (costing £400)
- New front and rear discs & pads
- New electric window motors on both sides
- New door speakers installed
- New window wipers, new number plates
- Engine service (new oil, oil filter and spark plugs)
- Brake fluid flush and new fluid
The car currently has no MOT (last one expired Jan 2020). The areas of attention to get the vehicle in excellent condition are:
- Welding needed to the rear sills and inner arches on both sides
- Replace the soft top hood (a brand new premium soft top with heated glass window is provided with the sale)
- Paint correction (some small spots of lacquer peel and blemishes in places)
The car has an immobiliser, CD player plus electric aerial all working. The interior is very clean with no rips or tears to the seats which is a common issue. Being a V-Special model, it comes with original Nardi interior trim (wooden steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake). The A/ C is fully working and the car has power-steering as standard. The boot lid has a genuine Mazda chrome boot rack fitted. Overall, the bodywork is good with clean arches.
In summary, a chance to acquire one of the lowest mileage examples of this model in good condition, with room to add value. An ideal project with a few jobs needed to get this car to a high standard. The car sits on it original lightweight daisy alloy wheels complete with all their Eunos centre caps. Toolkit, car jack and original spare all present in the boot.
Due to other commitments, I’m currently unable to have the vehicle on the road until summer of 2022, so it is being offered for sale during the interim. Any inspection welcome, but strictly no timewasters please.
