1989 BMW 635 CSI HIGHLINE - PROJECT
Reluctantly up for sale is one of my most favourite cars I was looking forward to doing, unfortunately a large amount of customer builds and stock cars will mean we don’t get chance to do one in the near future.
In anticipation of the build I have had a few small jobs done already including having all the original trx alloy wheels refurbished (set of 5) which is why the car is wearing the incorrect wheels in the pictures, the fuel tank had a broken filler neck so I have had the tank removed and refurbished by a local specialist including coating inside and out so it will last the life of the car (£500 job).
We started to strip the car in anticipation of doing the welding it required before sending to the bodyshop for painting , after assessing the cars it wants some repairs on the rear valance (below the lights) aswell as below the rear screen (we have removed this to inspect) , both front wings have small holes in that will want plating and welding (I have seen a lot worse!) and the rear arches will require welding too.
The trim both internal and external as a whole is very good but it will require the leather re colouring and a small repair to the dash to make perfect as well as the carpets cleaning.
It is a running car although currently the fuel tank has not been refitted. It will obviously require a mechanical recommission including an engine and gearbox flush, service, all new filters, plugs , filters and consumables and no doubt some work on the brakes due the vehicle being off the road a few years . There is no rear exhaust silencer so this will need to be purchased other than that everything seems to be there.
It is finished in a very desirable combination of Alpine White over a black leather interior.
This will make a very rewarding and valuable project for someone due to current popularity of the 80’s and 90’s market and the fact that this vehicle has such a large history folder with it.
Will obviously need to be transported and we can help with delivery if necessary.
