We last sold this delightful, superbly presented Austin A35 Van to long term regular customers and friends in Lincolnshire back in 2016. In over five years of ownership, the Van has covered over 3000 faultless miles and has been superbly maintained with invoices on file for over £4000 ensuring it has been kept in excellent order throughout.
The Austin was first registered on the 18th August 1961 and spent the first 41 years and 10 months with its first owner in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. Between 2003 and 2011 the A35 had three owners in Derbyshire, and in 2011 sold to one of our regular customers who owned the Van for five years, keeping it as part of his 15 vehicle plus collection in Lincolnshire. 696 UKX then came to us in 2016 in part exchange, on the button, driving superbly and in delightful cosmetic condition. We quickly sold the Austin to its sixth owner, also in Lincolnshire meaning the Austin has spent over ten years with long term customers of ours.
When the A35 was purchased in 2011 it was checked over and work included replacing the rocker cover gasket, fitting a new fan belt, new Kevlar hoses, new rotor arm, condenser and coil, new contacts, new distributor cap, two front flexi hoses, front wheel cylinder kits, new brake shoes, a canister oil filter conversion, and a new stainless steel exhaust system. Between 2011 and 2016 the Austin covered 2000 miles and when we sold the Van to its last owners, we spent £900 preparing the vehicle prior to its delivery to Lincolnshire.
Since 2016 upkeep and maintenance has included re-conditioning the speedometer and fuel gauge, rebuilding the master cylinder with new seals, a battery cut off switch, new thermostat gasket, rocker gasket, various new hoses, new hub caps, wing piping, two new door handles, new fuse box and various greasing, cleaning and adjustments as part of annual maintenance. The Austin has also had minor bodywork and paintwork to keep it presented in excellent condition. The engine bay compartment has also been transformed with hours and hours of careful detailing taking it to a standard worthy to show.
696 UKX now returns to us over five years on in lovely condition with very smart paintwork, a strong straight bodyshell in structurally excellent order with bright presentable chrome work. The interior is delightful with lovely carpets, seats and dashboard, and the rear compartment is exceptionally clean. The engine bay is excellent having been detailed to a very high standard over many winter evenings. 696 UKX drives incredibly well, it holds the road superbly, brakes feel efficient, it handles well and the engine performs beautifully. The gearbox changes up and down smoothly, the clutch feels excellent, and the overall driving experience is great fun. This is a superbly well presented, wonderfully detailed Austin A35 that's ready to enjoy.
