Description
Austin 40 Mk1 – Original/ Outstanding Condition
The Austin A40 Farina saloon was introduced in 1958. Designed by Pinia Farina the new design was intended to replace the A35 from which it inherited much of its running gear and was a capacious thoroughly modern small car with a brand new distinctive ‘two box’ shape.
BMC marketed the car as the ‘BIG’ Austin A40 and today good examples make the perfect starter classic with a strong following and excellent parts availability.
Milestone Classics sold “Guinness” last year to an enthusiast who has used and enjoyed her and now decided to exchange for another Milestones car because he values the quality of our stock and the service that we provide to customers.
The A40 is one of the most original cars that you could wish to own. Mechanically and structurally the car is just how we like our classics – lovely condition that would grace any show but well able to tackle longer road trips and be used and enjoyed.
Pre-Delivery Inspection work last year included the following:
· Paint to boot lid (there was a paint blemish that fell below our standard)
· Replacement of perished front windscreen rubber
· Front seat belts fitted
· Replacement seat webbing to driver’s seat
· Replacement Kingpins
· Replacement brake master cylinder
The car comes with a small history folder including MOT history, V5, original sales literature etc.
Ready to use and enjoy this lovely Austin will provide lots of pleasure and many happy memories for the lucky new owners.
