Hattie, the 40 Series Land Cruiser is a restored example of the classic original Land Cruiser. Her life began in 1980 in Australia, where she was sold in full 11 seat troop carrier configuration (affectionately known as a Troopy). Whilst the history of her early life is not too detailed, we know she was bought by a Swiss gentleman in the mid- late 90’s who then drove her overland across the world to Europe. There are multiple receipts and records of her time when in Europe where (anecdotally) she was regularly taken on trips around Africa. She was then brought to the UK where she has been registered since.
In 2020 and 2021 she has been subject to a full nut and bolt restoration with the vehicle fully disassembled, any imperfection repaired (there was very little) and then treated and repainted. Her interior has then been expertly refitted with a 2-berth camper conversion that folds away to provide side facing seating. The windows were also professionally refitted and resealed.
Mechanically the 2H 4. 0 6cyl Diesel Engine is in excellent condition. The alternator, steering rack and diesel primer have been rebuilt and restored by RH Cradock LTD Land Cruiser specialists in Jan 2022.
The vehicle is fitted with a full-length roof rack which has been professionally refitted and reinforced in Jan 2022. The currently fitted roof tent is not included and should be used only as a guide to how you could make her a 4-berth camper.
