Description
Here we have a rather unusual Land Rover.
On 27th January 1973 Mr Clark walked into Mann Egerton & Co Ltd in Wimbledon and placed an order for a Land Rover 109" 2. 6l 12 seater Station Wagon.
V5 Log book present and ready to go in new owners name.
Tax and MOT exempt
We have the retail order form and then the invoice from June 29th 1973 in the sum of £1777.
Registered on 1st July 1973 and only 1 owner on the log book V5.
Mr Clark lived in London at the time of purchase but moved to The Isle of Wight in later years.
Last on the road in 2005 and then barn stored since this time.
Mr Clark clearly took his rustproofing seriously as the chassis has never had any welding and needs none now.
The bulkhead is similarly very good with no welding needed or ever having any done.
The engine turns over on the starting handle with good compression but I have not had it started as the starter motor is not working.
The mileage is showing as 49, 725 which I believe is genuine and there are MOT certificates from 1989 34, 428 miles to 2004 49, 669 miles to back this up.
It will of course need full recommissioning but will make a great project with no structural or welding work needing doing and then will be a great expedition Land Rover for kids/ dogs/ logging camping etc!
