Present with the vehicle’s documentation is the original Pre-Delivery Inspection report (PDI) – a document often lost with vehicles of the classic ilk. The vehicle was ordered new with Rear Seats (565) and Paintwork preservation – a strong move to secure that rare and lovely paint finish. Mercedes-Benz provided 300SL customers with an extensive array of standard features common to modern vehicles, including electric windows, illuminated vanity mirrors, ABS, electronic passenger mirrors and more.
Registered in the UK in Spring 1989, this 300SL was used sparingly throughout the first seven years of ownership, accumulating just under 9, 000 miles. It was in 1996 that the car was purchased by a Mr Ambrose of London who has been the custodian of the car up until January 2022. Over this period, Mr Ambrose made use of the vehicle while sticking to a religious schedule of maintenance and servicing.
