Description
Launched in 1984, the W124 continued Mercedes' tradition of producing an exceptionally well built 5 seater saloon car. With development focused on aerodynamics and safety using state of the art computer aided design, these are a classic car that can be used every day without compromise.
This 300E-24 was the top of the range model for the UK in 1990. The 24 valve 3 litre straight 6 developed 231 BHP, driven through a 4 speed automatic gearbox. This was a high spec car with the desirable 'Sportline' option with lower suspension, quicker steering and thicker anti-roll bars along with slightly wider wheels (7. 5" instead of 7"). Braking was with the same larger brake callipers as the SL500. The well off first owner added many options bringing the total cost up to nearly £43, 000. The original build spec is below.

There is an excellent service history with main dealer services at 1k, 6k, 12k, 18k, 22k, 29k, 35k, 40k, 48k and specialist at 53k, 59k, 67k, 71k, 77k, 82k, 89k, 92k, 101k, 106k, 112k and 118k. I had the car serviced at 124k. As is common with Mercedes of this era the odometer failed, there is a documented replacement at 67, 612 miles in May 1995.
The car is in excellent condition with the exception of some bubbling to the lower front of the front wings along with some damage to the Zender front bumper. This is reflected in the price.
