For sale is a 1947 BSA B33 500cc OHV with matching numbers.
1947 is the first year of production for the B33. The 500cc OHV engine resembles the pre-war Silver Star OHV engine, and the fact that it is a rigid frame BSA only emphasises this. In many ways, this is a pre-war bike sold and marketed post-war.
This particular B33 was rebuild a number of years ago.
The engine has very good compression and is a smooth runner. Lovely idle from cold. Mounted with a later Amal Concentric carb for ease of starting and improved running.
Paint is very nice. Chrome is generally good but less so on the silencer. Not mint condition but still very presentable indeed. Ride and improve as you go along.
The petrol tank has been sealed.
Original Smiths speedo mounted in the tank.
Rims are the original rims with lovely paint and lining.
The following needs attention:
Dynamo does not charge. I have not tried to find the fault or rectify, so it could be something minor. There is a spare Lucas dynamo coming with the bike also.
Centre stand needs fitting (the stand comes with the bike)
The kickstart split pin does not fill the “cut out" in the kickstart axle properly, so needs changing for a new split pin (There is no play in the kickstart axle or gear change axle, they are solid with minimal movement)
The front fok needs oil.
The clutch plates needs cleaning as they stick a little.

Spare original oil tank
Spare front fork complete with yokes
Spare timing cover
Original centre stand
Various nuts/ bolts/ clutch plates.
The B33 is currently registered with EU documents.
