Ford Consul 375 Mk 2 – Show Standard
The second-generation Ford Consul (204E) was introduced in 1956 and formed part of the Zephyr/ Zodiac model line-up known collectively as the ‘Three Graces’. It was the budget model of this trio powered by a four cylinder engine and featured MacPherson Strut front suspension with servo assisted front disc brakes.
Finished in Chateau Grey over Imperial Maroon with grey interior the car is in stunning condition having been meticulously restored by John Brooker at Classic Car Services, Maidstone. There is a photographic record of the rebuild from a bare shell along with supporting invoices for work completed.
The underside of the car/ suspension components are as good as the bodywork, the engine bay has been detailed to show standard and the chrome work is outstanding.
During the restoration the engine was also rebuilt, a new clutch fitted and more recently the ‘375’ has benefitted from a new starter motor, dynamo, regulator & brake servo.
The interior of the Consul looks right and smells right. The seats have been re-trimmed in grey leather to the same style as when she left the factory along with replacement carpets and headlining.
The history folder includes service sheets from 1961, a sales invoice from 1962 and MOT’s back to 1975 @ 40, 620 miles (current mileage = 56k) and invoices evidencing recent servicing and maintenance.
