Welcome to our truly stunning Ford Capri 2. 8 Injection with only 3, 617 miles from new and 1 previous owner! which is backed up by the extensive history file and also a letter by the previous owner who has owned the car since April 2003. This car is truly amazing and is completely untouched inside and out, you can even smell the leather from the interior as if it was brand new in the dealership. As you can see this Capri has had very minimal use over the years but has been kept in outstanding condition and has been dry stored throughout the ownership of the previous owner. We were also informed it has never been driven in the rain which you can see by looking at the underside and how lovely it is.
OVERVIEW
The Ford Capri was the Ford Mustang of Europe. A mind boggling array of options meant that the Capri could be whatever you wanted it to be; just like the Mustang. The Capri was, in fact, a far more varied animal than the Mustang with engines ranging from 1300cc to 3100cc as well as a myriad of trim specifications. The most popular engine was the 1600cc unit but the object of most desire, was the three litre. The Capri was released to the press on 24th January, 1969 at the Brussels Motor Show. There had previously been a press preview in Cyprus but Ford had requested that nothing about the new car be published until 24th January to coincide with the motor show. Surprisingly, this request was honoured and the Capri caused a sensation.
BODYWORK & INTERIOR
We highly encourage you to come and have a look at this car to appreciate the condition of it and how untouched It is, as you open up the doors you can just smell the leather as if it was still brand new in the showroom. As for the body work that’s completely untouched as well and is truly astonishing the condition of this car both inside and out.
MECHANICS
The Capri 2. 8 Injection breathed new life into the range with the four-speed gearbox replaced with a five-speed unit early on and at the same, in 1984, upgrading to the Capri Injection ‘Special’ using half leather seating and a limited slip differential. Externally, the car could be easily distinguished by seven spoke RS wheels and colour-coded grille and headlamp surrounds.
