This is an older restoration that has had thousands of pounds spent on it, and still looks absolutely superb. The official colour is Tartan Red, which looks magnificent against the chrome bumpers, and this particular Sprite comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.
One of the photos shows how the engine was removed and rebuilt during the overhaul. The Austin Healey Sprite, for those of you who don’t know, was the more upmarket and therefore desirable version of the MG Midget.
The car comes with a massive history file, and the photos show how well preserved the underside of the vehicle is. This is a rock solid example. The interior is utterly gorgeous, and all set off by its authentic wooden Austin Healey steering wheel. The car recently had a brand new hood fitted. The 4-speed manual synchromesh gearbox performs excellently, as does the reliable yet zippy 1275cc A-series engine.
This is a lovely little sports car to enjoy our lovely county roads.
