The Triton motorcycle has always been one of the most desirable bikes for any motorcycling enthusiast to own, and the one we have for sale is one of the best currently available.
Tritons were built in the main between the 1950’s to 1970’s and were typically privately constructed. The aim was to combine the best elements of each marque and so to utilise the Norton frame, regarded as the best handling frame and to combine it with a Triumph engine unit with twin carburettors and twin camshafts, which gave greater reliability and could be easily tuned using high profile camshafts and high compression pistons.
The example we have available at Berrybrook has been built to exacting standards, with meticulous attention to detail throughout. The bike comes with an extremely detailed photo journal that document’s every part of its construction, along with listing every new part and the work done.
This Bike has T140 Crankshaft, Con rods, Pistons, Barrels, Heads, Triumph 6T cases and has had new 3134 cams fitted. The bike also benefits from having a T140 5 Speed gear box conversion, along with having a Bob Newby clutch conversion fitted and it has also been fitted with Boyer electronic ignition and coils.
Other work that has been done include Manx type 5-gallon tank, double curvature alloy oil tank (both built by John Williams ‘The Tank Shop’), refurbished road holder forks, Grimeca 4LS front brake, Dunlop TT100 tyres, Hagan shock absorbers. As you can read only the very best parts and suppliers have been used in its construction.
Since being built in 1996, this example has only covered 53 miles in use and has only been used for short test runs and the engine is yet to be fully run in. The engine sounded absolutely superb when we started it up at our workshops and is sure to bring the smile to any motorcycle enthusiast’s face.
