I’m going to offer this car up as a whole Until Saturday morning. I am not sure what it is worth complete so I will take offers via PM. If no one comes close then I will begin to break it this weekend. I have a rough idea of what its worth in bits but obviously aware people will offer less complete as its easier for me and frankly it would be nice to see it repaired, not interested in being low balled by breakers so they can make big money on it. An estimated cost of over £2000 to repair the inner arch and chassis by the battery tray to a very high standard but i'm not in a personal position to want to pay for it myself at this point as my business is recovering from over two years of COVID.
I have already had a few people start to request parts if I break it so if you are interested in anything drop me a PM and I can give you pics and prices if i go ahead with breaking it down. If single items are requested by multiple items then I would prefer to deal with UK based buyers. I'm happy to ship parts internationally at the buyers risk and shipping at their expense. We are all aware how rarely some of these original parts come up. I will not hold parts or the whole car without receiving deposits first or the full amount. Collection is welcome of course and i'm happy to hold parts for periods of time with full payment in advance.
Here is the brief which I write up for any car i own as i'm a bit nerdy like that to give you an idea of spec. And also some pics of the car and the rust issue. Aside from the front inner wing the car is pristine for its age, no rust anywhere else. Also have parts not fitted yet such as genuine Aerial, correct boot decals and genuine front lower frame which is the job it originally went in for before we found the rest.
The Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA STi Version II was a made to order car for those wanting to compete in the world of rallying or own a road car as close as possible to the competition vehicle. As a 90’s homologation vehicle just 852 V2 STi RA’s were produced and sold worldwide. The original brochure estimates orders to take up to 4 months from placed order to delivery. This particular car is one of the first V2’s produced by Subaru.
I purchased this car direct from Japan as the STi RA was a dream car for me. It had just one owner in Japan who kept it in near original condition minus the suspension and the wheels I had fitted, the car currently sits at just over 60, 000 miles, an average of just over 2000 miles per year. Unlike many Subaru this car still retains its original engine and gearbox. The Speedline wheels are the same as they used on tarmac spec rally works cars back in the mid 90’s however I do also have the factory wheels to include in the sale. The original KMH STi clocks have been retained to keep the originality of the vehicle. Not only has it had money spent in the UK to make sure its in top condition, but the car also comes with full Japanese service history. Where possible genuine Subaru and STi parts have been used to replace old worn items. In my eyes one of the most well spec’d and impressive homologation specials of the 90’s.
The car was also dyno’d for a health check upon arrival in the UK to ensure it was running safely. We found that the fuel pump was worn out and the car wasn’t boosting as well as it should so we replaced the original fuel pump and recirculating dump valve which solved these problems. The car runs as you would expect a low mileage, looked after car, very smooth and drives like its new. I want to get back into competition and this car deserves to be looked after by a collector. The sale includes all Japanese and Uk paperwork for parts, registration, history as well as a digital folder of pics and work carried out since it has been in the UK.
Can be sold without the Speedline wheels, various other original parts are included with the sale. Also happy to part ex against a decent rally car
