A Mark II 3. 8 in this good condition is becoming harder to find. Cherished by the current owner and very useable - an appreciating classic.
The MK11 debuted in 1959 with design tweaks, including slimmer windscreen pillars, which gave a more airy cabin and generally a feeling of a freshened-up design. Other improvements included a wider track rear axle and disc brakes as standard.
Registered new on 26th February 1962 by Henlys Ltd, London, to its first owner, Mr A Martyr. He kept the car until May 1978. The car had a further four owners until it was bought by the current owner on 1st February 2010. This MKII 3. 8 has been cherished by the current owner during his 11 years of custody and is now ready to enjoyed by the new owner.
Resplendent in the classic colours of British racing green with parchment leather and chrome wire wheels, it has matching numbers as detailed on the Jaguar Heritage Certificate in the extensive history file with the car.
Just fully serviced including the following: oil and filter change, brake fluid change, clutch fluid change, new cam cover gaskets, new front and rear brake hoses, all cooling hoses replaced, rear axle Panhard bushes replaced, front geometry reset and new headlight lenses.
During the current owner’s custody, this 3. 8 has had new rear springs, rear shock absorbers, new master and slave cylinders, new water pump, new horns and much more additional work to keep the car maintained to a top standard.
It also benefits from chrome wire wheels with new spinners and full spare wire wheel, full original tool kit and jack, E-Type steering wheel, a very comprehensive history file dating back to the early 1980’s, a full workshop manual, the original ‘green’ logbook and details of all previous (6) owners.
