First registered on 2nd June 1967 in Leeds this is one of the first two-stroke bodies which was given a V4 engine. It is right-hand drive.
I am the fifth owner of the car from new, the first owner had it until 1996. I bought it in October 2014 'just because'!
It has done genuine 51, 765 miles, with documented proof.
I bought it in 2014, because I love the shape, (-we have had numerous Saabs and 96's over the years, our first being a 1963 red two-stoke -198 TKT.)
In 2017 we took it (on a trailer) to Dawlish in Devon, where Mike Waters fitted an 'EZ Power' steering unit to the steering column. This small electric motor provides the effect of power steering to the car. It cuts out at 40 mph, and can be disabled for the purists, but makes turning and parking much easier! Saab Minilite Alloy rally wheels. Excellent Continental tyres, 2- stroke interior, very original. Fully serviced and ready to go, the car is in excellent condition and has been well looked after, but really it's not being used as it should and I am not getting any younger!
In 2019 I contacted SOS Workshops in Manchester (Of the TV programme fame) to see if they would be able to change the hoses, steam clean the engine compartment etc. as the presenter Fuzz Townshend stayed with us in our B&B when he attended Kop Hill that year. So off it went-again on a trailer! It has been serviced regularly, and MOT'd.
The main outing for the car since we had it has been to the annual Princes Risborough Kop hill Climb Charity event in September and a few other local charity events.
All work which has been done is documented, and it comes with a new (still in the box) exhaust system, even though the current Weber carb is fine. Various other bits and pieces will go with the car-handles, and others too numerous to list.
