Regrettably selling my 1994 C2 manual 993 in slate grey metallic with classic grey interior. It has 111, 200 miles on the clock and has had 5 owners. MOT runs til Feb 2023. I bought the car in January and intended to keep it but things change.
The car was supplied by AFN and came with the one year only and highly desirable soft back sports seats, green tint windscreen, aircon, sunroof and rear wiper and was a very early 993 possibly from first couple of weeks of production. Slate grey metallic was a special order colour.
The car sat for several years in dry storage before I bought it so I set about addressing various issues and servicing the car. It has had:
- new upper and lower valve cover gaskets and all new bolts
- spark plugs
- oil and both filters
- new rear RSR mufflers from carnewal
- catalytic converter
- heat shields
- new rear bumper supports
- motorsound oem airbox cover
- pollen filters
- air filters
- new OEM black overmats
- new Blaupunkt essen stereo - bluetooth, USB etc.
- new rear alpine speakers
- leather reconditioned
I did all of the above and then took it to AMS Porsche to do the following:
- alignment
- new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 all round
- new rear Brembo discs and pads
- brake fluid change
- aircon regas
- new chain tensioner cover, tensioner and gasket
The car drops a tiny bit of oil from the timing chain cover gaskets - I am talking a tiny few drops - which is pretty good for a 993. And they don't drop onto the heat exchangers so it doesn't stink!
Everything works and the car feels great to drive and makes a fantastic noise with the RSR mufflers - they are modified standard OEM mufflers and make a great noise without any drone at lower revs. I have had several classic Porsche 911s and this is certainly a very solid, entertaining drivers car. It is not perfect and has many stone chips at the front and would benefit from a front end respray or just enjoy it as is and worry far less! It has one tiny bubble at bottom of front screen but expect its been there for some time and hasnt worsened. But its a notorious 993 thing and may need addressing at some point.
Suspension may need a bit of a refresh in due course but it isn't rattling and the car tracks perfectly and rides beautifully.
There is nothing in the file to suggest any engine rebuild but there is nothing in the way it drives to suggest it needs one.
Aircon is nice and cold.
The car comes with all manuals, tools, keys and spare wheel. I HPId it and it was clear - various private plate changes but nothing to be concerned about.
All in all a great car, usable, with a lot of jobs done, ideal for an enthusiast who wants to drive it and use it regularly. A narrow body C2 manual is a great aircooled 911 and there are seldom many for sale.
Open to reasonable offers near the asking price…or possibly a swap/ px for a good gen 2 997 convertible.
