EXTERIOR
The paintwork is wrapped in matte grey metallic, a great contrast against the piano black trim, wheels, and spoiler. The body appears in very good order all round with no obvious signs of any major damage, although given the car’s track focus some wear is to be expected on close inspection. The lights are clear and crack-free, and looking along both sides the car appears nice and straight. A new windscreen was fitted in October 2021.
INTERIOR
The Clio sports a stripped-out interior with no rear seats, carpets, headlining, or sound deadening. The front seats have been replaced with lightweight buckets equipped with 4-point TRS harnesses. The driver’s seat is a Renaultsport/ Sabelt Taurus while the passenger-side is fitted with a Sparco Evo bucket in blue. The dash, centre console, and door cards all pleasingly remain intact, the car still benefiting from a number of conveniences such as electric windows, air conditioning, keyless start, etc.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Recent mechanical work includes a full nut-and-bolt gearbox rebuild with new syncros (at K-Tech Racing), a new clutch, slave cylinder, cambelt service with tensioners and pulleys, a new water pump, cooling fan assembly, pre-cat lambda oxygen sensor, and crankshaft sensor – all completed in 2021 around 58k miles; a Blackline limited-slip differential (LSD) was also fitted at this mileage.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The car additionally benefits from all new discs and pads, a new handbrake cable, a rear brake caliper service, new lower pivot arms, inner track rods, and 4-wheel alignment – all done in October 2021. The ABS pump was also fully refurbished in November 2018.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new in December 2010 this track-ready Renaultsport Clio has now driven only 58, 700 miles in the hands of just 3 registered keepers. It was originally built and used as a demo track car by reputable race-prep specialists Finishline Ltd in Hitchin. Under current ownership (since 2017) it has been a company promo vehicle used for staff incentive days at Thruxton along with a no-expense-spared approach to maintenance. In fact, despite covering little over 1, 700 miles in the last 5 years the current owner has spent almost £9, 500 sorting the mechanically. A lower mileage (38k miles) replacement engine was fitted in November 2017 at 57k miles and the car has been extremely well maintained since. The last service was a full cambelt service carried out by K-Tech Racing in June 2021 at 58, 494 miles. Just MOT’d and mechanically sorted with a freshly rebuilt gearbox, it’s ready to be driven and very much enjoyed both on and off track.
