It is not often that one of these wonderful cars come to the market with such low ownership and been so well cared for. So the first owner, a car hire company from Gravesend, Kent took delivery on the 1st August 1968. They kept the car for 16 years before it was sold to its 2nd owner in 1984 through Wilcox & Co (Limousines) Ltd for the sum of £2750 (invoice in file). Surprisingly this gentleman was also in Gravesend where the car had been since new. He looked after it meticulously for the next 38 years alongside 3 other of the same model until he sadly passed away last year. We were lucky enough to be offered his entire car collection including the 4 limousines.
We had wanted to re home all 4 of them together, as they had been in the same ownership for all these years, but this has proved very difficult obviously due to the space required to keep them, so we have made the decision to sell them individually.
So this example is displaying just 73000 miles. It has the straight six 4 litre engine with auto gearbox and also benefits from power steering. The bodywork is excellent and very straight. It has not been made to look good, like so many out there, it’s a really solid car that has won previous concours awards within the Vanden Plas club. The interior again is excellent with occasional rear seats and glass partition. Headlining is lovely, all switch gear hood and woodwork also in nice order. It comes complete with a detailed history file detailing all works etc that have been carried out on it through the years right back to when the gentleman purchased it.
The engine runs beautifully with good oil pressure and it performs without fault on the road and is a pleasure to drive. If you are looking for one of these cars they do come on the market occasionally but a lot of them need considerable money spending on them. This might not be the cheapest but in our opinion it has to be one of the best ones left in existence
