1972 NG TD Roadster. Nightfire red with black upholstery and black hood. NG Cars was founded in 1979 by vehicle and aeronautical design engineer Nick Green and based in New Milton, Hants. He began his career with Associated Engineers; a large manufacturer of car components and throughout his life had an interest in car re-construction. Over a period of nine months he developed his first NG model TA which appeared in Motor Sport in October 1979. This car went some way toward honouring the Aston Martin International of the 1930s. In 1983 the TD appeared in response to customer demand for a more practical NG, and, later in the same year it appeared with the elegant flowing wings that created the TF. Our car is a great example of the popular MG based kit car first launched in 1979. Based upon MGB running gear fitted to a bespoke cruciform chassis, NGs were a well engineered, beautifully constructed kit that gave a new lease of life to many rusting donor cars which, by the 1980s, were easy to find. Over 1000 NG cars have been constructed in various formats and with a range of engines. Correctly registered on the V5 as a 1972 NG this car has been with its last owner for 22 years and covered just 27, 000 miles this NG hard been well cared for over the years, with most recently new seats and carpets fitted and presents very well. The wire wheels have just been refurbished and new tyres fitted and the car will be freshly serviced and mot’d upon sale. Full weather gear is also with the car including the roof and side screens should you wish to use the car in all weathers. The wooden dashboard and Moto Lita steering wheel complete the look of this vintage roadster. Running and driving well and easily keeping up with modern traffic this NG looks far more expensive that its price reflects.
