BMW 735i V8 Auto (Model E38 Facelift): An absolutely stunning, modern classic BMW in metallic silver with very low warranted mileage, only 2 previous owners PLUS a full 12 Month PREMIUM warranty included in the price.
We are very pleased to be able to offer an extremely well looked-after, UK-supplied, E38 manufactured in 1999, with the glorious 3. 5 litre V8 petrol engine and a good, solid service history. The last owner had the car for over 20 years, most of it's life in fact. This particular car is one of the sought-after facelift models, introduced in the 1999 model year, produced from September 1998. So it comes with the revised headlights and tail-lights, as well as the technical update to the M62 3. 5 litre V8 engine, featuring variable valve timing on the intake camshaft. It was also fitted with the DSCIII electronic stability control and the upgraded airbag occupant protection system.
We have spent several months and invested a considerable amount of money reconditioning this already wonderful car and preparing it for sale in this fabulous condition. It's not concours, but it was in very good condition when we acquired it and since then any slight blemishes have been rectified and the car has been appraised and serviced by our specialist mechanics partners so that we can offer the full 12 month premium warranty from our partners at BlueChip Warranties. How many 23 year old cars come with a comprehensive 12 month warranty? It's a very lightly used example of this desirable car with an excellent provenance and is already eligible for classic car insurance.
It has covered just 75, 000 miles across 23 years, averaging an incredibly low 3, 260 miles per year, confirmed by the service history and the complete MOT history from DVSA. The maximum mileage the car has done between services is 12, 871 miles. With 9 services over 75, 000 miles the car has averaged 8, 333 miles between services, but, in fact, the car has done such low mileage in the last 10 years that the average mileage between services since 2011 has been more like 4, 500 miles. The metallic silver paintwork with de-chromed exterior trim, beautiful grey leather interior and high specification (including the Television and SatNav screen system) make this a highly collectible BMW connoisseurs car.

The BMW E38 is the third generation of the BMW 7 Series full-size luxury car and was produced from 1994 to 2001. The E38 replaced the E32 7 Series and was very much an evolutionary step forward rather than the shock of the Chris Bangle styled E65, which was revolutionary, to put it politely. The E38 was produced with petrol and turbo-diesel straight-six and V8 engines, along with a petrol V12 flagship model.
The E38 is widely regarded as one of the best BMW models of all time, and many enthusiasts consider it to be the high point for the automaker’s luxury flagship model. We’re now several generations removed from the E38, but with one look at the collectors market it’s clear to see which 7 Series model stands out above all the rest. Today, enthusiasts and collectors alike are willing to pay very good money for a clean, well-looked after E38, in a good colour and with the right specification, like this one. It was a striking looking car in the 90's, with its low, flat-nosed hood and wider kidney grills. Few would argue with the assertion that its looks are still very handsome and classic to this day.
Although all versions were powerful and fast, what was most impressive about the E38 wasn’t its straight line speed, but rather its handling. With a very innovative suspension for the time- forged aluminium, double wishbone control arms, shorter springs and a rear multilink set-up, the E38 handled expertly with impressive levels of grip and composure.
Designer Boyke Boyer was responsible for the concept design of the E38 and that concept was then developed for production by Claus Luthe, the designer responsible for the revolutionary NSU RO80 and Volkswagen K70, along with many of the more important Audis. Luthe was a pioneer of aerodynamics and digital design within the automotive industry.
The E38 offers a supremely enjoyable drive, despite its luxury car proportions. It’s not the ultimate in comfort (that accolade goes to the S-Class) but you will get an exceptionally good drive that feels as sporty as the smaller BMW saloons. The ride is surprisingly supple for such a sporting saloon too. It’s stunning on the motorway, soaking up bumps on A and B roads and performing very well at high speed.
The E38 was, apparently, the first road car available with curtain airbags and the first European car to offer satellite navigation. It was also the first BMW to offer a built-in television. It was the first 7 Series to be available with a diesel engine and the last to be available with a manual transmission. It may have been graced with evolutionary styling (thankfully), but it was still a trail-blazer in terms of technological advancements.
There were several technologically advanced safety features introduced with the E38 (and it's subsequent facelift in 1998), including ASC+T traction control, headlight washers and auto-levelling low beam xenon HID headlamps. Side tubular airbags, referred to by BMW as "Head Protection System", were fitted as standard equipment. "Active Comfort Seats" were introduced in 1998, to improve comfort and reduce fatigue for the driver and front passenger. This system uses two fluid-filled bladders which alternate in height.
This fantastic car comes with the pack of original owners manuals, 9 service stamps and receipts for all the improvements we have made (including a recent major service, new spark plugs, new ignition coil, new cam cover gasket, aircon regas plus new brake disc & pads all round). We also have the DVSA MOT History and certificates going back to 2006 (the year that MOTs started to be digitally recorded) plus two remote control keys.

The silver metallic exterior paint finish is in great condition. This is a 23-year-old car, so it is not quite showroom condition, but it's close. Given the regular maintenance this car has received, and the very low mileages covered in its 23 years, the mechanical systems of this car are in great condition. It would make a luxurious, refined, everyday classic, or is equally perfect as a weekend show car. It would also make a fantastic addition to a BMW collection. The value of this car will only increase if it continues to be looked after in the manner in which it has been thus far.
