Description
For sale: BMW 728i, January 1983, Graphit Metallic (London Smoke grey metallic), 74, 712 km on the original odometer.
Engine: BMW 286 EC, inline 6-cylinder petrol, 2, 788 cc, 135 kW at 5, 800 rpm, 4-stroke.
The car was purchased by my father in 1993 and has been kept in a dry, covered garage ever since, never exposed to the elements. It has not been started for approximately 15 years. I am selling it as-is, without attempting to start it, to avoid any risk of damage to components that require professional recommissioning.
Bodywork and exterior
The bodywork is in good overall condition for its age. There are surface scratches around the perimeter, each documented individually with photos and a tape measure in the listing images. No structural damage to the body shell. The BMW roundel badges on the bonnet and boot lid show paint oxidation, typical of the era.
Interior
The interior is in excellent condition: original beige velour upholstery, no tears or staining. Headliner intact. Original carpets in good condition throughout.
Equipment
Full automatic climate control with original controls. Electric windows on all four doors. Original steel wheels with BMW hubcaps. Michelin tyres from the 1990s. Spare wheel with original "Made in W. Germany" tyre. Original BMW Delodur glass.
The manual gearbox engages smoothly in all gears - video available on request.
Mechanical condition
The car requires full professional recommissioning before driving: fuel system, brakes, rubber seals and hoses, cooling system. The underbody shows surface rust typical of the age, with no evident structural perforation.
Documentation
Original service booklet. Certificate of ownership.
