1937 Rudge Special. 500cc OHV. Matching numbers and one owner since 1966.
The original registration documents from 1937 are coming with the bike confirming original engine and frame numbers. Included is also the hand written sales receipt from 1966, when the last owner bought the Rudge.
The Rudge Special is an older restoration and has been used over the years for rallies and summer tours. It has been used but never abused and is in a very lovely condition. You can tell that the bike was made for touring:
There is a sturdy stainless rack fitted with easily detachable leather panniers on either side. Soft leather seat and passenger seat fitted (there is a replica Lycette type seat which will go with the bike). Handlebar button for flicking the light and horn button on the left hand side handlebar. Sturdy rear view mirrors fitted on both sides (Panniers and rear view mirrors taken off for the photos but in the last photo in the folder you will see them fitted). LED bulb fitted. Oiltap fitted with little home made device to secure the tap open while riding.
The Rudge Special is fitted with an alloy cylinder head that the previous long term owner bought in the UK from a former Rudge employee. The Rudge Special starts first kick and is fully sorted and ready to use.
Currently registered on EU registration documents.
