SUMMARY
Supplied new by International Cars of Chesterfield (who later became Speeds, Mercedes) this 190E 2. 6 has remained with the same family right up to August 2021, when I acquired it from the Estate of the late owner.
As a specialist in these cars, I've had around 200 W201's pass through my hands over the last 17 years, and I have to say this is probably the best driving 190E 2. 6 I've had in all that time; 190E 2. 6's are all superb to drive, but this one is that extra bit special as it's just so beautifully smooth, very quiet and incredibly self assured. This is clearly down to the extraordinary level of maintenance this car has enjoyed over the last 20 years whilst in the hands of an extremely enthusiastic and incredibly diligent owner. The level of maintenance is not just beyond necessary, but beyond belief!.... in addition to the usual stamped up service book and bonus big A4 file of invoices, the last owner also kept a very detailed log of everything he'd ever done to the car. If that isn't enough, in addition to this the owner also catalogued all the parts that had been replaced on the car; he also logged how much oil went in, and how much came out when he changed it. He'd also thoroughly researched everything he ever replaced at great length too; I've seen many well looked after cars having been in the classic car business for 17 years, but never before have I seen this level of care.
The car is in simply beautiful condition, and comes with every single piece of paper you could hope for, as well as all its original keys too, it's the complete deal, and everything a buyer of one of these cars could ever wish for, and more! I could write page and page about this car, which nobody would probably read anyway, so I'll just let the pictures do the talking. The W201 190 series is (at last!) now becoming very sought after; I've always maintained the M103 straight six made the W201 something very special indeed, and feel somewhat vindicated as serious car collectors have now awoken to this, and the 190E 2. 6 is now the second most sought after variant of the W201, after the the 16V (aka Cosworth) and super rare EVO models.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don't just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won't notice; I just couldn't do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have.
