January 1981 Volkswagen Golf Mk. I 1. 6 GTI, sold new in Portugal.
Newly fully restored vehicle in excellent condition.
The Volkswagen Golf went into production in 1974 and proved to be a worthy successor to the famous VW Beetle, currently in its 8th generation.
The GTI version, launched in Europe in 1976, was for many responsible for the creation of the «pocket rocket» genre: small, light and economical cars, but with a sporty nature, with high performance but without harming their daily use.
The Golf Mk. I 1. 6 GTI is equipped with an atmospheric 4-cylinder engine (engine code EG), which produces a maximum power of 110 hp at 6100 rpm and a maximum torque of 140 Nm at 5000 rpm. Thanks to just 832kg, it can do 0-100km/ h in 8. 8 seconds and reach a top speed of 182km/ h.
