Last of line Jaguar sports cars historically progress to being sought after derivatives like ‘commemorative’ E Type and XJS ‘celebration’. In any form, the original XK8 is a future classic with its rounded retro styling being a must-have for up-and-coming enthusiasts who lusted after them when new, and this is a perfectly preserved example of the final 200 ‘run-out’ model called the ‘white badge’ 4. 2’S’. Finished in special colours, this Bay Blue example with Cream Hide, black carpeting and upholstery stitching with Elm-Wood classic veneers is as lovely as it gets. Other features include chequered flag polished tread plates, bespoke badging, leather bound over-carpeting, darkened rear lights etc. As to the quality of this particular car, it could hardly be bettered having one owner from new from whom we purchased directly, and it has covered just 12, 000 miles. Dry garaged throughout, this XK8 was used ‘for best’ from new until 2015 and then stored by the owner until earlier this year when it returned to the road. Servicing was with main agents until stored, and then a reputed Jaguar specialist recommended by JEC re-commissioned it for the owner in March including new Pirelli tyres all round. Paperwork includes original factory brochure, the car’s original order form and invoice, stamped service record, folder of supporting invoices and letter verifying the car’s history prepared by the previous owner. In pristine order throughout and a unique opportunity.
