1997 Mercedes-Benz CL600
A rare 600 V12 140 coupe with just two owners from new and 111k miles. A great ‘driver’, with scope for minor improvements.
Finished in Smoke Silver metallic with black leather interior. It has the usual total specification found on 600s, including climate, heated/ memory/ orthopaedic seats, rear blind, wood/ leather wheel and gear knob and the desirable ‘Eltanin’ 18in alloy wheels.
Note, as this is a 1997 car it does not have the problematic wiring harnesses pre 96 cars had – the wiring on these late 140s like this was completely changed and doesn’t need replacing. In addition to the revised wiring, these later cars benefitted from coil-on-plug ignition and a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Supplied new by Waterhouse of Chelmsford, the first owner kept the car 4 years until 2001. The second owner kept it 21 years.

Part service history comprising a folder of receipts recording seven services between 2001 and 2022, which point towards it be maintained as it should. The last service was carried out at 111, 356 miles in February of 2022.
As the pictures show, the bodywork is tidy, apart from some bubbling to the offside front and rear wheel arches – see photos. The interior is nice and all the woodwork remains in very good condition. Matching Continental tyres all round.
The car drives remarkably well; very smooth and quiet with oodles of power from that V12, which runs very nicely.
