This Fiat 500 is an originally registered Italian import being first registered in Italy in 1975. It was brought across to the Uk in 2014 where it has had 1 owner since who used it very sparingly.
Mechanically the Fiat 500 is in first class order. The 2 cylinder engine starts readily needing only a small amount of choke on the quirky choke/ start levers. On the road you cannot help but smile with the roof folded back and the engine singing away behind you and the sporty exhaust note from its upgraded sports exhaust.
Launched in 1957 the ‘ Nuova’ (new) Fiat 500 was the company’s successors to the 500 Topolino and as with other European manufactures like Volkswagons Beetle and the BMC Mini, the 500 opened up a new world of cheap and practical motoring for style loving Italians. With 2 doors, a genuine 4 seater and a fold back soft top roof and amazingly economical 479cc 2 cylinder engine the 500 proved to be hugely successful and it’s also considered to be one of the first purpose designed city cars !
