TVR Chimaera 5. 0 1998 CAT C Project. L666TVR.
Sold as a running, driving project, this car has come to us due to the owners unfortunate passing and was last used in May 2022.
Key positives are the engine gearbox and drive train and solid central chassis.
The engine was rebuilt in July 2019 by Rob Robertson Race Engines at 27, 000 miles and now shows 27, 771 so barely run in. Gear box, clutch and diff all are working well with no clunks or whines.
All the electrics and dials work, although due to standing outside since April 2022 will benefit with all connections being cleaned up.
The inspection lists all the key faults with “*” highlighting essential to get the car through a fresh MOT.
Inspection key areas:
Radiator end of life – Recommend replace
Air filter - Recommend replace
Outriggers end of life – Recommend replace *
Rear CV boots - Replace *
Chassis Flakey.
Horn Insecure – Refix*
Front lower wish bones holes – repair *
Off Side track rod end play – replace *
All brakes with corrosion – remove clean or replace *
OSF wheel curbed - note
Fuel lines aged – Recommend replace
Tyres 2002 Front – replace *
Tyres Rear 2011 – Ok but recommend replace.

26/ 12/ 2004 -VRM and VIN Category D Insurance Loss. Vehicle Damaged But Repairable - Insurer Decided Not To Repair TVR
14/ 07/ 2013- VRM and VIN Category C Insurance Loss. Vehicle Extensively Damaged But Repairable -Insurer Decided Not To Repair TVR
VRM and VIN VIC PASS: This vehicle has had an identity check carried out by VOSA. The V5 will state "substantially repaired and/ or accident damaged: identity checked on 26/ 01/ 2015" VIC PASS
The car has a later front end headlight conversion and the paint is fair from 6 feet with blisters.
The interior although aged, is without rips and tears to the seats. The front overlay carpets are missing.
Overall this would make a great track car or can be put back on the road. The plate L666TVR is available separately.
