The moment I saw my first Charger, and experienced something similar, was when I watched Bullitt at the age of 16. Yes, Steve McQueen is effortlessly cool in his slightly beat-up Mustang, but to me it was the Charger that really stood out. Seeing this beast of a muscle car dwarf the Mustang as it swung wildly round bends, losing hubcaps along the way, blew my mind. With its broad, cavernous grille deceivingly void of any lights, its double-scalloped doors and its all-black paint, it looked mean as hell.
