Probably amongst the rarest of the 1970’s Airheads, the R90/ 6.
Just back into stock, and with a huge history file to support its very smart and usable condition.
This is the second time that I’ve had the pleasure of owning this R90/ 6, knowing well, two of the three previous owners since the bikes import from the Netherlands in 2009. The substantial history file bears witness to much maintenance and upgrades over recent years, and can give any prospective owner confidence in the bikes pedigree.
Over and above the usual maintenance items, the bike has had an exchange gearbox from Motobins, and been the subject of a Steve Scriminger engine re fresh, including twin plugging of the cylinder heads. Rather than a sparkling “trailer queen”, the bike is a well sorted, very attractive example of a well sorted Airhead BMW, and is ready for many more year of reliable service. It still carries its lovely original Hella switch gear and cast alloy indicators, and benefits from extras such as chrome crash bars, cast disc, and a full stainless steel exhaust system.
At nearly 50 years young, the bike is obviously Historic status, and as such, is MOT exempt and road tax free.
