Hello and welcome to the sale of this stunning 1937 Ford. This fantastic survivor car has been carefully cared for and maintained in fully traceable enthusiast ownership over the last 10 decades. I find it quite incredible that cars like this exist! Interestingly although this is very much in the style of an American car, it is a very rare Dagenham UK home market RHD vehicle which has never left the country! The car comes with a large history file, together with extensive items of collectors literature appropriate to the model, including instruction manuals, spares parts book, service manual, chassis parts and accessories catalogue, approved service tools, spare parts list, parts catalogue, repair manual, service equipment, specialised service equipment, parts price list, parts and accessories bulletins from the 1930s, full lubrication chart in the original envelope, and letters from Ford dated 1960 to its then owner. All this makes fascinating reading in itself! It is fitted with the famous 3. 4 flathead V8, along with the 3 speed manual gearbox, providing more than adequate performance for the age of the car, along with a fabulous noise! There are also loads of other quirky and interesting features such as the barrel operated ignition lock, suicide doors, and opening top hinged windscreen. Overall, the exterior is very smart and tidy, with a deep shine and no heavy damage. We have taken the opportunity to complete some light cosmetic improvements to make it show ready this season, and have also been over it mechanically. We have just re-cored the radiator and conducted a tune up at quite some expense to ensure the car is 'on the button' for instant enjoyment. The interior, seats, carpets and headlining are also very smart, having been re-trimmed approximately 20 years ago, and remaining very clean and tidy and now sporting an appropriate patina.
Whilst the car does not present as brand new, it oozes an authenticity which is very appealing and hard to replicate without time. To sum up, this is a fabulous and immediately usable, surviving example from a yesteryear of motoring, and it will be sure to attract much admiration and enjoyment on this year's show scene!
