The SSK was the last car designed by Ferdinand Porsche before he left to found his own company (needless to say, his decision worked out well for him). The SSK was the fastest car ever made at the time and is widely considered one of the best cars ever manufactured. Only 40 were made and half were sold as race cars, most of which were either destroyed, scavenged for parts, or otherwise lost to history, leaving only 4 or 5 originals left – one of the last ones to go to market sold for around $7. 4 million. The unmatched history of this automobile has led to myriad replicas, allowing those who love the look and feel to enjoy a similar vehicle on the road without the enormous cost.
The incredible 1929 Mercedes-Benz SSK tribute featured here is finished in gorgeous Cream with Dark Burgundy fenders over a Burgundy interior and a Cream convertible top. This exquisite motorcar has been beautifully maintained and driven just 3, 204 miles from new. With power supplied and controlled by a Ford engine and transmission, this is an extremely enjoyable car to drive. Seldom do we see vehicles as nice as this one with the extraordinarily low miles and superior condition. Offered to the most sophisticated investor, collector, or enthusiast who once to drive and enjoy a great retro classic at an investment price.
