Welcome to the sale of my much loved, genuine, Mercedes 2. 5-16v.
I have owned her for over 5 years during which lots of restoration work has been carried out. It is a much admired example of a truly iconic car.
RHD UK car with original bill of sale from Dicksons of Perth for £31000 to a titled first owner.
Only 4 previous owners in its 34 year life.
Manual gearbox "dogleg".
When purchased it was a rather tired but seemingly solid car, or so I thought. It was sent to a trusted classic car restoration workshop initially for a respray, but it soon became evident that a more in depth body restoration was required. The go ahead was given and many hours of cutting, fabrication and welding finally resulted in a totally solid shell. I have photos of the progress of the work which was carried out to a very high standard.
It was then resprayed in the original Smoke Silver.
Other work carried out-
Brake overhaul with callipers rebuilt, new flexible and solid pipes.
Suspension refreshed with parts replaced as required.
Engine serviced, new fuel pump, fuel sender and refurbished fuel distributor.
Wheels refurbished with new tyres.
The interior is in excellent condition with virtually no wear evident.
There was work required which included-
Rebuilt window regulators.
New lcd screens for lap timer and outside temperature display.
New blower motor.
The work was all completed last year and resulted in a clean MOT with no advisories at the end of last June.
It has not been used since hence the reason for sale.
There is a huge history folder going back decades.
Private plate stays with the car.
An iconic car to either enjoy or tuck away as an investment.
