On offer is this beautiful Austin Healey Sprite MK1, in lovely condition throughout following an extensive restoration in 2017/ 18. With hardly any miles since completion, it remains in near new condition.
Weighing just over half a ton the Sprite is supremely agile and zippy with light steering which is light and responsive, the unservoed brakes are positive and effective. The gearchange is reasonably precise and the Frogeye is great fun to runaround in - and still return almost 40mpg. Thanks to a surprisingly rigid bodyshell the handling was way ahead of its time and – thanks to quarter elliptic rear springs handles even better than later Spridgets plus suffers less from axle tramp although ride is always although a little hard.
There is a thick file of receipts with the car covering the period since its repatriation from the USA, it appears to be a dry state car that has been systematically dismantled and then rebuilt including a reconditioned gearbox and engine.
