UK bike declared new at first registration in the UK in May 1978. The CB400A Hondamatic is becoming rare these days with top examples commanding high prices. Based on the CB400 Dream but with a 2 speed semi automatic gearbox. Like any other machine the engine is started in neutral but you lift the pedal to select the two gears which use a torque converter so the clutch lever is not required replaced instead with a parking brake with a lock out device so you can't apply it when riding. HPI clear with recent report present. 41, 575 miles showing on the clocks believed genuine although there's no MOT history with the bike and nothing on the GOV. UK database records which started in 2006. This particular example has been off the road unused for many years so will need recommisionning. The overall condition is good for the year with some light age related weathering. The engine starts easily but the fuel tap & Carbs. leak fuel so both will need attention. The engine soon cuts out due to Carb. issues as you can see in the Youtube video link above. Being sold strictly as a trade sale without warranty. This unusual classic Honda is a very worthwhile project which could be brought back to be a beautiful practical classic at minimal expense. Very much priced to sell so be quick!
