#1 of only 9 F2 cars built in 1973 by "Rondel" (Ron Dennis/ Neil Trundle), this was the development car. See history at Oldracingcars/ F2/ 1973/ Rondel. Eventually shipped to North America for conversion to U2L Can-Am, where it had an extensive race history with Randy Zimmer. Car then sat unused for approximately 30 years when purchased by fellow Can-Am competitor Seann Burgess for full restoration (completed 2022). The car uses all original Rondel chassis/ suspension components with Ft200 and 13B 2 rotor Mazda. The car was stripped to the bare tub for a complete nut and bolt refresh, and finished in a version of the original F2 paint scheme.
This is obviously a very rare car, not only being a Rondel, but who doesn't love Can-Am cars? This car actually briefly held the lead in race amongst all those 5 litre cars! One of the true "underdogs" just like the Seann Burgess homebuilt #17 in photos, these cars were campaigned by privateers who put together what they could with limited resources to run with the big boys. Now ready to be unjoyed once again.
