EXTERIOR
Supplied new in a vibrant and iconic shade of Speed Yellow (a colour launched with the 993), this rare and exclusive Turbo S is in outstanding condition from bonnet to boot. It’s wide arches, turbo scoops and twin rear spoiler give away that this is no ordinary 993 Turbo. The paintwork retains a dazzling lustre, free from any visible blemishes with further protection of full PPF.
INTERIOR
The interior is finished is soft black leather combined with a generous helping of carbon fibre trim. Open either door and you’re met with a brushed aluminium sill plate with its Turbo S designation proudly on display. The electric hard back sports seats are in great condition and provide comfort for cruising but equally as supportive when pushing on. They are upholstered in supple black leather, which shows just minor creasing on the drivers side, whilst the rears are in equally as good condition.
Considering the car was produced in 1998 the extensive use of carbon fibre is extraordinary, adorning both door cards, much of the dash, parts of the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever while neatly surrounded by stitched black leather where appropriate. The cabin has a quintessential executive feel and presents very well, with almost no noticeable signs of wear throughout, its clear that this is a very well cherished example.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 993 Turbo S was the last road-going air cooled car ever to be produced by Porsche so its no wonder they decided to go out with a bang. Producing 450hp with the help of some uprated Turbos and a twin exhaust system the Turbo S is potent; hitting 60 mph in just 3. 9 seconds and topping out at 187 mph it’s still considered hugely fast over 25 years on.
On inspection the mighty twin turbo power plant seems almost compacted into the rear of this 993, very much in hiding beneath its large Intercooler which dominates the upper engine compartment.
Its last major service was carried out in 2021 which included upper and lower cam covers and gasket replacement as well as new turbo oil feed line, new exhaust fixings, gaskets and sleeves. More recently it has been given a clean bill of health and a minor service completed by Porsche Centre Brooklands in April 2023.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 18 inch hollow spoke alloy wheels are finished in their correct Turbo S colour and hide model specific yellow 6 pot brembo calipers. All of the wheels remain in excellent condition with no scuff marks.
The wheels are wrapped in matching Porsche N rated Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres, which provide exceptional performance on the road.
HISTORY FILE
This rare and exclusive Porsche 993 Turbo S was supplied from new on the 5th of March 1998 to its first owner by Evans Halshaw West Midlands, this Turbo S has had five meticulous owners with two of them cherishing the car for more than ten years each. It has remained in the UK for its entire life, only covering 12k miles in the last 16 years.
