This fantastic, showroom condition VW Golf GTi G60 spent its first ten years in Munich before coming to the UK in 2000 with 64, 000 miles. The VW spent two years owned by a Nottingham based Doctor and then twelve years with one owner in Warrington who spent some serious money on mechanical upgrades and maintenance. From 2014 – 2020 the VW was in the South of France with an elderly owner who covered just a few thousand miles in six years of ownership. We collected the G60 from the South of France in 2020 and since then we have sold the car to one of our long term regular customers. The VW has covered little over 70, 000 miles and on initial road test performs superbly with impressive power coming from the supercharged 1. 8 GTi engine.
Between 2002 and 2012 with its Warrington based owner the Golf covered 3100 miles and expenditure over this period included a G60 Stage 4 overhaul, G60 chip and pulley kit, cambelt replacement, new starter motor, alternator belt, water outlet, new clutch, drive shaft flanges and diff seals. Over the six years near Toulouse the Golf has needed little work, just light maintenance over the small mileage it has covered. On arrival back in the UK the Golf was treated to a major service, new strut top mounts and the new owner commissioned a full complete re-spray in the cars original colour. The body was found to be in exceptional condition with just parking dents and minor imperfections evident. The car was professionally re-painted and as result now presents in top class condition. One of the recent owners also sourced a set of original optional extra G60 wheels that really enhance the car, and the engine bay has also been subject to some detailing work.
The VW has clearly led a very sheltered life and is largely an original. Its three owners in Munich clearly maintained the car very well and there is a comprehensive file of service history from its time in Germany. We can confirm the car is outstanding to drive, it is quick, powerful, feel strong and is brilliant fun. The car handles superbly and is ready to go.
Cosmetically the car is exceptional, the bodyshell is structurally excellent, panels perfectly straight and the paint finish stunning. The upholstery is incredibly clean and well kept, you could not expect better after 30 years of careful ownership. This is a very genuine, honest car in a great colour and on the road it will impress. A true 90's hot hatch, and a quick one at that! The Golf comes with original document wallet, handbook, spare keys and a comprehensive file of invoices and has clearly always had careful owners who have never left this car to deteriorate.
