"An unrivalled road car": this is how Citroen's advert boasts about the worthiness of its flagship car. Introduced four years after the launch of the Traction, this top-of-the-range version was fitted with a 2. 8-litre six-cylinder engine in order to improve performance. It also had a more luxurious interior. The L'Aventure Peugeot Citroen DS stated that this specific example had left the factory on the 6th January 1951 and its engine was indeed the original one. It had already benefited from a restoration when it was purchased in 2011 by the grandfather of the current owners, who wanted to complete his Citroen collection. The bodywork is healthy and well aligned overall. The impressive front bumper is surmounted with horns and also long-range Marchal accessories. As for the interior, the beautiful Pullman upholstery in grey cloth (with matching carpets) has obviously been redone in the past and is embellished with holding ropes for the rear seats, as well as a vase on the right-hand pillar. The mighty engine starts straight away, thanks in particular to an electronic ignition which seems to be well adjusted. Still equipped with its 6-volt electrical system, this beautiful traction has been fitted with a useful water temperature gauge. With its pre-war look and its performance which enable the driver to do long journeys in comfort, this iconic 15/ 6 will attract the affinity in every village you drive through!
