This Alfa GTV is part of the rare "Grand Prix" limited series created to celebrate Alfa Romeo's return to Formula 1, of which only 650 were ever manufactured. It has a special finish by coachbuilder Maggiora, with a complete coat of red paint (including the bumpers), striped grey velvet seats, red carpets and various fittings such as Ronal wheel rims.
Our collector purchased it in 2008 from an enthusiast based in Cher, who had owned it since 2002. It has a mileage of 86, 000 km and a set of invoices from 2003 to present. In 2012, its bodywork was overhauled, with the two rear wings replaced (bought from the specialist VHB) and restoration of the underbody and lacquered paintwork, coming to a total of 2, 200 euros, as can be seen on one of several invoices from the GTA Alfa garage in Nevers present in the file.
The vehicle as a whole is well preserved. The engine compartment is in used condition, the Dell'Orto carburettors feature accessory air filters and we found traces of a previous repair to the left front wing, which will need rework. The interior looks as new, with the Grand Prix no. 291 plaque on the glove box casing. The odometer displays 87, 131 km and the dashboard includes a JVC CD audio system. The car requires servicing before being taken back on the road.
This Grand Prix series adds exclusivity to the excellent qualities inherent to the GTV coupé, with space for four in a comfortable and sporty ambience.
