This cute little “Ape” is as much fun as you can legally have with your clothes on, a smile every mile, everything is in working order, totally original and unrestored and you can even earn a wage with its optional, foldable stall platform and canopy, earn, play, promote, shows, rallies, road runs the options are endless. Bought and used by us for a wedding prop as a sweety / display stand, job done and its looking for a new home.
Mid 1970’s model, which will be historic road tax (free) and MOT exempt, 190cc engine with 4 speed manual gears and reverse, starts and runs very well, has a good top end road speed, will keep up with modern traffic and it’s not underpowered, it will carry 500kg, a proper Italian mini work horse. The “MP” model denotes “Motore Posteriore” a larger rear mounted engine fitted over the rear axle instead of under the seat in the cab, makes for a quieter ride and much easier to access for servicing.
Came to us direct from the UK’s most prominent Ape importers “Morgan’s Customs & Classics, it’s just been cleaned up and remains very original and unrestored, a completely genuine example. Not yet road registered for the UK, we have the NOVA and the applied for the age letter ready for the new owner to register, fully filled out application form supplied on request.
Works as it should, the side lights, headlight, horn, indicators, wiper, dash warning lights work correctly. The foot brakes are very good and lock up if pushed hard, the handbrake is very good, good battery, both doors open and click shut, even the windows open and close with working original catches.
We have a full 156 page service manual in English, its included with the sale in a PDF format so you’ll have it hand for any servicing or repairs. Parts are readily available on the net, admittedly mostly from Italy rather than off the shelf, but you can get everything you need posted to your door.
It’s very much as it arrived from Italy and we’d recommend a check over and service prior to use, some tinkering may be required, we haven’t inspected it, sold as a collector’s item in running order.
In summary, all working well, it’s incredibly good fun to drive, will be a real talking point at shows and rallies, original and unrestored, its cheap to own and run and has the potential to earn a few quid, you can’t buy much for under four grand these days that ticks all those boxes.
