August ‘94 Type 2 SX (sports extra)
The SX had lower, stiffer suspension, the more modern looking black interior and rear spoiler.
Imported 2005, on the road until 2010 and dry stored since.
Car is in Bristol UK and V5 is in my name.
Rolling shell project that comes with 20b engine, turbos, ECU and gearbox etc...
Since I bought the car 18 months ago I have sourced everything to build the engine apart from the e shaft.
All engine parts have been hand picked by a rotary engine builder with over 30 years experience and they are happy to build the motor if required. The list of parts includes:
The all important 20b plates (lapped and ready to build)
20b rotors and counter weights (lightened and balanced)
3x very good 13b FD Housings
20b twin turbo pack
20b plenum, lower inlet manifold and throttle body
I have also sourced other items like cooler lines, radiator, intercooler etc.
A lot the smaller items to source cross reference with FC and FD like alternator etc.
Everything is here to build the motor apart from the e shaft which can be bought reproduced from New Zealand or wait until a good used one comes up for sale.
The new owner will have the option at this stage to either rebuild stock ports, turbos and ecu or go ported, single turbo with a standalone and manual gearbox etc. The worlds is your oyster and it all comes down to how much power you want to make and what type of car you want to build...
Re A chipped stock ECU (I have a standalone for single turbo or n/ a pp if you want this route)
Equip 18” split rims included that have been refurbed with brand new Toyo tyres (can also sell it on a set of cheap 17 wolfrace wheels if preferred)
Stainless cat back.
Original Cosmo floor mats and JDM flare.
Rust free aside from tiny surface rust on passenger inner arch lip (see YouTube video)
Comes with correct gearbox.
Engine loom cut in the bay when previous but one owner removed original 20b but I’ve got the wiring diagrams to remake. I was going to go non sequential so was only going to extend the wires that I needed and delete the rest to simplify.
Bone stock apart from wheels, cat back and tints.
To summarise, an extremely rare JDM car that you never see on the roads with an equally rare engine.
This project has many variables for the new owner to build either a stock car or a Widebody, single turbo, manual, mega power rotary monster!
