I purchased this car 18 months ago and went straight in to a mechanical rebuild. £15, 000 later it is now complete and ready for its next owner. I am selling to fund my next projects. JRN 512G was first registered 15th July 1969 and has just had its 54 birthday! It is a genuine Morris Mini Cooper Mk2 with a heritage certificate and is built to 'S' specification. When I purchased the car the body, paint and interior was just how I wanted it. Restored in 2018 it looked just right and not like a freshly restored trailer car. The underside was superb as you can see in the pictures. Mechanically it was another matter and I decided on a full rebuild. The list is endless but here are some of the things done:
New rear subframe, adjustable Gaz shocks front and rear, hi-lo suspension, modified rear camber, negative camber bottom arms, new bushes, new copper brake lines, 'S' discs, brake cylinders, brake hoses, brake adjusters, enamelled front subframe, 'S' brake master plus extension, clutch slave, clutch master and extension and clutch arm. Engine was: modified 'S' head, rebuilt SU's, K&N style filters, Lucas sport coil, oil cooler, 'S' rockers, slipper pistons, lightened and balanced rods, ARP bolts, re-ground crank, steel flywheel, steel backplate, orange diaphragm clutch, 'S' duplex gears, 'S' crankshaft damper, Kent 266 hollow billet camshaft, 'S' 23D4 dizzy, 'S' 1128 syncro close ratio box, competition diff pin, 3. 4 crown wheel and central oil pick up. The gearbox had a full rebuild as well. Other items include 5 x genuine Minilite 4. 5 x 10 alloy shod with Dunlop Formula 'R' SP sport 165/ 70R10 tyres, maniflow LCB manifold + RC40 exhaust, twin tanks with locking Aston style caps, Mota lita wood rimmed sterring wheel, Cooper 'S' badging, Speedwell pedal and much more. The car is finished in its original colour scheme, Island Blue, Snowberry White roof and black interior. I have just got the back and completed a 70 mile shake down run with no problems at all. Runs very well with good oil pressure and a smooth gearbox. Lots of nice coments at the show I took it to. Great car for a lot less than it owes me!
