Description
This very useable BSA Gold Star DBD34 actually started life as a DB32 in Clubman trim when it was despatched to BG England of Dunstable in September 1960. The engine number refers to a DBD34 also in Clubman trim which was despatched to John Surtees in West Wickham on 8th June 1961, however, whilst the crankcase is a genuine Gold Star item, we suspect that the stamping is not an original factory one. Maybe a dealer exchange? The machine has come to us from an excellent source who is well known to us and who has owned the bike for 14 years as well as knowing it for over 40 years having always been in this configuration during that time. It is currently fitted with a Mk2 Concentric Carb, standard type handlebars and an STD gearbox but the original GP Carb, Clipons and RRT2 gearbox are in a box with the bike. It has a Dunlop Rear Rim and a Record front with a TLS Brake plate in the 190 Hub. It was registered for road use in the UK in 1967 hence the 'E' suffix registration. The bike starts unbelievably easily and runs very well indeed being a quick and easy to ride on the road Gold Star. Clearly a well used and much loved machine that wears its minor marks and scars well and with pride. More details and a video link on our website at:- ventureclassics. com
