A truly remarkable and extremely rare DBD powered, numbers matching UK supplied RHD car finished beautifully in it's original colour of Deep Carriage Green with light grey hide.

This is one of the most original DB Mk3s we have ever seen, a wonderful example fitted with it’s extremely rare DBD high power triple SU carburettor engine. One of only 47 of these cars produced with this increased performance power unit. This car also has a brilliant and interesting history.

With just ONE owner showing on V5 logbook (due to computerised records 1978), a trace of the car’s ownership record reads like this;
Supplied direct from Aston Martin to Mr P. F. Butler in Leeds on 9th March 1959 it was specified with twin exhaust, radio unit and with the customer’s own mirror fitted. It competed in a race at Wiscombe Park in 1961. The second owner was World War II Spitfire pilot and flying ace “Woody” Woodward of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

The last owner acquired the car when studying at University in 1970 and it is testament to his love for this car that he managed to keep hold of it. In 2009 he subjected the car to to a lengthy, costly and extremely sympathetic restoration. Every invoice is present in the huge history file, many from Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd in Newport Pagnell and a good number accompanied by hand-written letters from Captain Ivan Forshaw of Aston Services Dorset.

This car has been in single careful ownership for over 50 years, which goes to explain the incredible originality and excellent preservation of so many original parts.

We have thoroughly inspected this car and it has been serviced and prepared for use. The level of detail is impressive and it would be difficult to find a better example. However the are 2 tiny dings in the paintwork – one in the RH rear wing behind the drivers door and one in the left front of the bonnet.

The DB Mk3 is the original ‘Bond car’ as featured in the Ian Fleming spy thriller novels, this was a true supercar in in 1959.
