Here we have for sale my 1989 Chevrolet Corvette C4 manual.
A little bit about the C4 Corvette if your not familiar. its a steel and aluminium frame with all Grp panels. has a 350ci 5. 7L small block V8 engine producing around 250bhp and about 470nm of torque. It has a TPI fuel injection system. The engine is mounted behind the front axle. all suspension components are made from aluminium for weight saving. this combined with the grp body mean the car weighs around 1450KG so very light considering the engine size.
The 1989 model was also the last year of the super cool LCD digital dashboard. It has all the mod cons you could need including power locks, power windows, cruise control, electric adjustable seats and digital climate control as well as other great features like the switchable dashboard to go from imperial to metric and door mounted wiper controls
Originally purchased new from Kelly Hollywood Chevrolet in Miami it was used over there for a period of around 6 months before the owner imported it to the UK in 1990. It was then used as his only car for a number of years until it was left in dry storage in 2015.
I am the second owner from new. Mileage is 115, 500
I purchased the Corvette earlier this year after it had been sat since 2015.
It has had lots of recent work completed to get it back on the roads again.
Has just been fully serviced.
Originally an Automatic transmission car is has now had a full ZF6 manual conversion done using all original parts including the correct ratio manual LSD diff and correct pedals and wiring. This is all the correct transmission and associated parts for a 1989 car as that was the first year GM used the German made ZF 6 speed gearbox.
There is also adjustable coil-overs that replace the factory transverse leaf springs the C4 had from the factory. (I have all the factory leaf spring parts)
The car is a lovely Aqua metallic blue colour with light grey leather interior. It also features a rare Polycarbonate roof panel that is translucent. the roof panel can be removed and locked into place in the trunk when driving giving you both a coupe and convertible in the same car.
The condition of the car is very good for the age however the interior could use some light restoration work.
I was also planning on having the bumpers and body kit repainted as there is some light damage thats been gathered over the years.
The car is currently sat on turbine wheels from a 1990 car with the correct size 275/ 40/ 17 tyres all around. (new tyres are due to be fitted this week)
I do have the original wheels and also a set of ZR1 wheels that are available separately.
The car runs and drives great. sounds fantastic and is pretty quick. It will turn heads and you will get people telling you how cool it is. trust me ! I have never owned something that gets so much positive attention.
Its fully UK legal with RHD headlights etc and comes with a current MOT and a folder of paperwork.
The aircon does require a re gas. (planning to get this done)
