Mercedes W123 230E, (1985), 5 Speed Manual, Diamond Blue, Classic Car. Sadly we are selling our good friend B372 TCT. The car has been in our family for a good few years and has been in regular use and looked after during this time as we fully intended to keep the car for the long term. Truly a wonderful car, the ride quality is fantastic and the car has most definitely lived up to the legend of the Mercedes W123. Definite head turner, people stop to give you the thumbs up and wave! This is a very loved car.
The good points:
Mechanically in great condition, starts every time without fault, even with hot starts. Clutch and gearbox and smooth with no issues. The engine is smooth when driven and accelerates with ease. Brakes are in top shape, the best brakes I've ever had on a car!
Any time the car has needed something doing it's been done

Car has been in regular use which is great for the fuel injection system
All moving parts (doors, boot hinges, bonnet hinges) have been regularly greased
2 brand new Hankook tyres on the front

Lots of history
New spark plugs
New fuel filter
Steering fluid recently changed
New air filter
Wind down windows so no unreliable and expensive electric windows
No sunroof
Gearbox oil recently changed
Rear CV boots changed
Rear exhaust hanger mounts recently changed
Rear door check strap replaced
New steering belt a few years ago
Previous owners also looked after the car and was dry stored for a period of time
The bad:
Some would say 218, 826 is a lot of miles, but for those who know the W123 model they know that W123s were built to last. Quite possibly the best built car in the world, well capable of covering 1 million miles! So high mileage is not a concern, it's the condition that counts. This car has been looked after by ourselves and previous owners to keep running and running and running.
Small repair patch on side of drivers seat, repaired lovingly with the same material as the seat.
Failed last MOT due to welding only, nothing mechanical. This is the main problem with the car, it needs some welding repairs and cosmetic issues resolved. I have done a lot of research in regards to repairing the car and have sourced high quality replacement panels at good prices:
Left sill: £50
Rear floor left: £48. 99
Rear floor right: £72. 41
Left splash guard: £43. 13
