Description
Here we have a very special and rare 1932 Mg J3, this one is believed to be the first ever J3 supercharged Mg produced, effectively meaning a prototype. The MG J-type is a sports car that was produced by MG from 1932 to 1934. This 2-door sports car used an updated version of the overhead camshaft, crossflow engine, used in the 1928 Morris Minor and Wolseley 10 and previously fitted in the MG M-type Midget of 1929 to 1932, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed non-synchromesh gearbox. Production took place between 1932-34
The J3 was a racing version of the j2 with the engine capacity reduced to 746 cc and fitted with a supercharger. The smaller engine capacity was to allow the car to compete in 750 cc class racing events. Larger brakes were also fitted..
This car was used in the 1933 Monte Carlo Rally, it truly is a one off car, very rarely do they come up again with this provenance, the car isn't in working, it also has a Ford engine in it but it does come with the original engine, the car will need fully restoring from the bottom up, it would make a wonderful car once restored back to former glory, the car has just been released from a deceased estate, where the car was owned for a massive period of time around 60yrs, any questions please ask..
