La Fulvia Coupè vede la luce al Salone di Ginevra del 1965, e riscuote un eccezionale successo sportivo e commerciale. Il designer della Lancia Piero Castagnero crea una carrozzeria dalle linee eleganti e slanciate, con un abitacolo luminoso e raffinato.
Il motore sviluppa 79 CV IGM e raggiunge una velocità di 160 Km/ h. Rispetto alla berlina della 2^ serie il peso viene ridotto sensibilmente rendendo l’accelerazione molto più brillante, e il comportamento su strada denota la sua spiccata vocazione sportiva. Che cresce ulteriormente quando nel 1966 viene varata la versione HF, con l’introduzione tra l’altro di due carburatori e l’ulteriore alleggerimento della carrozzeria. Della prima versione coupé sono stati prodotti 20. 436 esemplari, della HF 435.
